IBM Cloud Storage
Storage Refers to Memory, Components, devices and media that retain Digital Computer data.
The Storage is classified in to different types like Block Storage, File Storage, and Object Storage.
Block Storage: Block Storage is like The Storage that will be appear as the local Drive and the Data stored in it can be accessed and be created. The block Storage Does not matter whether the drives are internal, Storage Area Network. The Block Storage may be an ISCSI Storage or SAN Storage These Block Devices can be partitioned in the form of LUNS, which is a Logical Unit Number, and then this can be used by attaching it to the VM. In this, the data can be transferred and can be received securely by using the encryption and Decryption. You can create a Volume of about 20GM To 12TB.
File Storage: The File Storage is a Network Attached Storage (NAT) which is connect through the Ethernet It Avoids the Data Loss during Maintenance or Failures. Can Quickly and easily Create a Clone with a Snapshot which will be used in DR. It can connect up to 64 hosts. We can Create a 50 manual and 50 Scheduled Snapshots.
Object Storage: Object Storage is used to Store the unstructured Data which is mostly used for Cloud Applications It is not a physically attached Storage it can be connected by using the API The Object Storage is low in cost and it is not used to store the structured Data.
