Alibaba Cloud is now offering OpenShift 4.10 at Technology Preview
Red Hat and Alibaba have worked to add Installer Provisioned Infrastructure (IPI) functionality as a Technology Preview for Alibaba Cloud with the release of OpenShift Container Platform 4.10. Customers are invited to try out Alibaba Cloud’s single-click fully automated OpenShift 4 installation and submit feedback.
Alibaba Cloud, Alibaba Group’s digital intelligence and technological backbone, and a Red Hat Certified Cloud Service Provider (CCSP) partner since 2017, provides computing, storage, and network services for China’s and international markets.
Customers can deploy Openshift 4 on the Alibaba cloud in one hour using Technology Preview from cloud.redhat.com. Customers can choose the Alibaba location where they wish to deploy the Openshift 4 cluster with the fully automated installation. The installation generates the necessary infrastructure for three Openshift controller nodes and three Openshift worker nodes by automatically provisioning Alibaba Cloud services such as VPC, vSwitch, ECS, SLB, EBS, OSS, Alibaba Cloud DNS, and NAT gateway. IPI allows auto-scaling of worker nodes beyond the first automated installation by providing new ECS instances, installing Openshift on the new instances, and automatically joining them to the cluster.
